Sutton-on-Sea and Trusthorpe Carnival: 2001 July 26th - 29th

Our Carnival was a great success this year. We had good weather and the support of so many people. The Carnival Queen is Luaren Duncan and the princesses, Sam Ward and Melissa Herberts were at every event.

Fun Run (Thursday) - 86 entries: winners were Mark Dalton (first man) and Mia Haywood (first woman)

It's a Knockout Competition (Friday) organised by the Sutton Springs Holiday Estate. This was held on the Bacchus lawn.

Coffee morning (Saturday) was in Meridale Hall, and the pavement artist competition in the morning proved very popular. . In the evening there was the Carnival Showtime with the Marisco Music Hall Company at Trusthope Village Hall.

Carnival Grand Parade (Sunday) The theme was Book Titles with entries such as Ali Baba, (commercial float winner), Oliver Twist (noncommercial winner), Noddy (Meridale Kidz Club), The Railway Children (Sutton WI), Alice in Wonderland (Best walking child) Death on the Nile (best walking adult), The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe ( best walking children's walking group) and best decorated mobility vehicle was from Herbert Althorpe.
