Sutton on Sea Community Emergency Volunteers
The most valuable asset within any community is the community itself – especially if those members are prepared to offer assistance and support to that community.
Community Emergency Volunteers play a critical role in helping communities to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies which include flooding. Thankfully emergencies are rare but when they do happen responding in ways which enhance that of the emergency services and other agencies can save lives, livelihoods and the environment. Local knowledge is key and by working as a coordinated team, a community emergency volunteer is ideally placed in helping the community get the right information at the right time so people can make informed decisions that help to mitigate the impacts of the emergency.
